2004 - Bespoke Solution of the Year
Logicom won the award for 'Bespoke Solution of the Year' at the 2004 World of Learning Awards which recognises excellence in the training industry.
The award was in recognition of a tailor-made solution that has had a positive impact on the organisation that commissioned it. The standard of entries for this category were extremely high and Logicom were competing against much larger organisations, including the BBC and Xerox.
The award was for our Real World Environments CBT for British Gas Service Engineers. This 3D highly interactive 'Real World Environment' takes service engineers through the process of visiting a customer's house. Used by both learners and experienced engineers, the course has been installed on 8,000 field laptops to date. Overall, the project has seen extensive improvements in the training of engineers, with the product supporting business objectives as well as meeting technical training requirements.
Dave Varey and Majid Al-Kader from Logicom and the National Training Design Project Manager (British Gas) received the award at the presentation ceremony at the NEC/Birmingham.
